About the Series Editor:
Each of these master-pieces of international scholarship in World Christianity, theological education, ecumenism and social witness and service have been brought together under the leadership of Rev. Prof. Dr. Dietrich Werner, Germany. An ordained pastor of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church, he has worked for decades in theological education and research in multiple settings, including Missionsacademy at the University of Hamburg, World Council of Churches, Geneva, Bossey Ecumenical Institute and Bread for the World, a Protestant Development Organization in Berlin. His passion for excellence in theological education and to amplify the diverse voices of ecumenical colleagues around the world drives this series. This is seen as vital for co-operation and dialogue on religion and development, on faith and diplomacy, on world religions and the climate crisis. Werner’s vast ecumenical network of highly qualified scholars is reflected in the editorial teams and contributors to each volume of this growing series of major world class handbooks of World Christianity.
