In the mid-2020s many would agree that the world needs to be very different from the way it is now. For Christians this raises afresh the question of mission - what kind of effect is their faith intended to have? This book attempts an answer by considering the Spirit of God as the primary agent of mission and exploring what this means for ecumenism and evangelism. It reckons with destructive forces yet finds hope for transformation in the call to mission.

In the last decade or so, Kenneth Ross has emerged as a major voice in the area of ecumenical mission theology. These pages, written in his careful, elegant, and insightful style, let readers hear that voice clearly and powerfully, and to recommit themselves to mission and unity in today’s violent and troubled world.

Through profound research and discerning analysis, this book orients us to the contemporary understanding of mission as the action of the Spirit of God. It is also an urgent call for our faithful participation in this mission. A must-read for everyone with ecumenism and evangelism at heart.
