Culture and Christianity Negotiated in Hundu Society

Ole Kirchheiner has made a very important contribution to the limited body of research available about the Nepal church. Yet it is one of the most fascinating stories of modern mission history! Working from the case study of Asha Church in a typically rural area in the centre of the country, but whose congregants have begun to move into the urban centres, he has made a fascinating study of how these recent converts have retained their essential ‘Nepaliness’ while becoming genuine followers of Christ. This work deserves a wide readership, and hopefully will stimulate further research on the important questions raised.
